The Principal Secretary for Petroleum, Kello Harsama accompanied by other senior officials held a field tour of key petroleum and gas facilities in the coast region, where he reaffirmed clear national priorities; a petroleum & gas sector anchored on safety, compliance, supply reliability, & market efficiency. 

Across the facilities, discussions focused on strengthening operational integrity & ensuring full adherence to regulatory & safety standards. PS Harsama further underscored the importance of maintaining seamless product flow across the entire value chain. He urged industry players in the energy sector to embrace coordination between regulators, operators, & logistics stakeholders to reduce bottlenecks, improve efficiency, & strengthen overall market predictability.

“Kenya has consistently maintained a stable & reliable fuel supply system that compares favourably with many countries in the region. We have adequate stocks, additional cargoes on the way, & robust infrastructure that enables us to sustain supply & shield consumers from fuel shortages & price volatility,” said Mr. Harsama. 

The PS reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening strategic petroleum infrastructure, expanding storage capacity, improving efficiency across the supply chain, & supporting investments that enhance Kenya’s position as a regional energy & logistics hub.
